Thane returns with his new single, "brb (still scrolling)". The idea behind the song came from a riff off of the tongue-and-cheek interlude concept "brb (scrolling)" from his previous "The Algorithm Isn't Working" EP. The interlude on the past EP existed more so as a skit to comment on the way we consume music and how perhaps some modern listeners view art as a disposable form of quick entertainment. It was a side note on the project to a greater commentary on what it means to be creative within an algorithmic structure and how it may inform the creative process itself. To illustrate this, Thane played with electronic genre tropes and stretched them to his own will/sound. Interested more by the consumability of information, he expanded on the interlude idea into its own song.

On “still scrolling”, he creates an ambitious electronic 3-part suite meant to encapsulate the dystopian feeling and simultaneous allure of the "doom scroll"/infinite scroll (and perhaps an optimism in the third movement/section of overcoming it). Similar to themes from his debut “Topia”, "brb (still scrolling)" very much still has a concern with individual vs. environment/nature vs. machine. This is apparent in a sonic-sense within the organic/natural textures mixed with the mechanical/widely imaginative sound designs throughout from movement to movement. Although Thane has always been occupied with melding organic and inorganic texture, there is always a certain degree of humanity attached to the work that the listener may get from it as well. Thane’s modus operandi has always been to create personal yet engrossing environments through music and this recent single will be his biggest height reached yet. Regular collaborator Jamie Breiwick also makes an appearance with a bursting trumpet performance throughout.
